Fenway Center Description
After years of anticipation and negotiation, Fenway Center has finally received the final approval to get the ground running in the fall of 2013. Located at Brookline Avenue and Beacon Street, the 500 million dollar project will hold five-buildings for residences, which includes 170,000 square-feet of office space, 90,000 square-feet of retail space, and 1,290 parking spaces. The 500 apartment units will be in a key location right next to the Massachusetts Turnpike and the Yawkey Commuter Rail Station, increasing public transportation and encouraging people to use it. The Fenway Center project is said to be home to the T’s first net-zero energy train station in combination with one of the largest solar energy plants in the state of Massachusetts. Sustainability is not the only positive outcome of the Fenway Project, 1,700 construction jobs will be a result of the project for people in Massachusetts. Amenities at the Fenway Center include bicycle storage, a bicycle share station, and a daycare center. Leading the project is developer John Rosenthal, President of Meredith Management, who is extremely excited for construction to start.
